I am a retired army nurse and I’ve completed several training classes with my dogs. I currently have a Great Dane named Sandy and my amazing daughter, Hannah. I’ve delivered peoples animals across the country that were considered “risky” breeds and with a little patience and time everyone was happy! I know how it feels to trust a stranger to take care of a pet, so I will do my best to alleviate any worries.

Dog Walking in Sharon

In 1889, Sharon, South Carolina came into existence. It was a town born of the rail line. The rail line offered many opportunities for travelers to come and explore the tiny city. The history of the city is showcased at the Museum of Western York. Outside the buildings, you can see the original tools that helped to shape the community. Inside, you will learn about the people that shaped the community into what it is today. They have a gift shop where you can buy handmade items crafted by the local artists. These include soaps, woven linens, and even art. All of these are made through local customs that have been handed down through the generations.

The Rainey House is another local favorite. It was restyled to what it is today in 1906. You can see the beauty of the land around it. Tours are by appointment only during the off-season. If you would like to see a schedule for the busy season, you should check out the website. The grounds are full of natural beauty, so be sure to take a camera.

Sharon, South Carolina is a wonderful way to teach your children about the history of the area. It is an interesting combination of the modern and the historic. You will find that your visit is full of adventure and hands-on learning for everyone, even your fur baby.
