I am a retired army nurse and I’ve completed several training classes with my dogs. I currently have a Great Dane named Sandy and my amazing daughter, Hannah. I’ve delivered peoples animals across the country that were considered “risky” breeds and with a little patience and time everyone was happy! I know how it feels to trust a stranger to take care of a pet, so I will do my best to alleviate any worries.

I started dog/pet sitting for friends and family about 5 years ago and have loved every minute of it! My breed experience ranges from 150 pound Great Danes to tiny Yorkies. I have also fostered many cats/kittens and placed them in loving homes over the past few years. I’ve always loved animals and enjoy that I’m able to care for them as a job!

Hi there! I'm Kim and I love dogs and taking walks, so this is perfect for me. I grew up in a household surrounded by dogs as a kid, and as an adult, the highlight of my day many days is getting to pet a stranger's dog(s) while I'm out walking. “The best things in life are furry!”

Hi! I'm a dog lover too and I have 3 dachshunds I love dearly. I know what it's like to worry about them and want the best for them. I also know that sometimes you just can't get home in time and you don't want to make them wait any longer! I'm self-employed and I work from home, so I'm often free with little notice. I enjoy meeting dogs and look forward to having a reason to get a little more exercise and fresh air and sunshine instead of being chained to my desk all day.

Dog Walking in York

The city of York, South Carolina has gone by a few different names. First, it was known as Fergus’s Crossroads, but soon after, it was officially dubbed Yorkville. That was back in 1785. However, that name didn’t stick around permanently. In 1915, residents decided that the name was simply too long, so they voted to shorten the name to York. That name has stuck, although Yorkites today have one more affectionate nickname for the city: The White Rose City! The nickname comes from the 15th-century War of the Roses between York, England and Lancaster, England.

It’s obvious that York, South Carolina has a rich and vibrant history, but chances are that your dog cares more about the dog-friendly amenities than the city’s past. The popular Pelican’s SnoBalls, a local favorite, has dog-friendly ordering and seating, so Fido can enjoy a sweet, frozen treat with you! It’s located on the eastern side of town.

Unfortunately, York doesn’t have any dog parks. Never fear, though! There are quite a few bark parks within 20 miles of York, so you’ll never have to travel too far to have fun with your dog.

York’s a beautiful city with a beautiful past, and if you don’t mind a short drive, your dog will enjoy it, too!

Fido can get out and hike the trails with you, but he’ll need to be on a leash. The park prefers leashes shorter than six feet in length, and they also request you clean up after your dog. Remember to bring enough water for you and your dog. A day pass costs two dollars.

He’s allowed on any of the hiking trails, but he will need to be on a leash shorter than six feet.
