Southwestern Bell is an authentic Dallas, Texas neighborhood right in the heart of downtown. Fortunately, thanks to the location of the area in downtown Dallas, there is a wide variety of options on just about any good or service, including ones for your furry friend. By far, the best vet in the area is Lap of Love. There are also some great pet stores in the area, the best of which are The Upper Paw and Pets Purrfur. All of these locations are great options that make getting your pet groomed easy for you and enjoyable for them.

Dallas weather can wander into the extremes during the summer months with highs that can easily break 100 degrees during the height of the season. Prepare for your walks by bringing plenty of water and reschedule your outings for earlier or later in the day when the sun isn't beating down heavily onto the pavement below.

Southwestern Bell is one of the most flat and artificial parts of all of Dallas. This is largely due to the fact that it is right in the heart of downtown. Although Dallas, as a whole, is largely artificial and flat, downtown is the most artificial. This affects the topography of the area as well because the lack of parks and open spaces further limit residents' abilities to find a hilly part to walk on.

Although this can be very limiting and unappealing for some dog walkers, especially those who have an affinity for outdoor adventure, it can be no big deal at all to others. The most important question to ask yourself when considering living in this area is how you usually spend your free time. If you spend large blocks of time outdoors, then this isn't a great fit. However, if you are more drawn towards dinner parties and shopping with friends, this area is perfect.

Although most of the local parks are big city parks which means very small and artificial surroundings, some of them are still very interesting and fun locations. One really popular location is Main Street Garden Park. This great location has a beautiful and very large public lawn, a toddler play area, a dog run, fountains, public art, and a convenient cafe.

Another great city park is Belo Garden. This urban garden features a beautiful interactive fountain and really brings some nature back into downtown Dallas. There are also two great dog parks in the area, perfect for finding Fido's perfect soulmate in the concrete forest.

Both Bark Park Central and Deep Ellum Lofts Dog Park are a great option. Another more unique aspect of big city living is the high number of parks attached to businesses or beautiful business lawns. A great example of this is Dealey Plaza.
