Vickery Place is exactly what most think of when they think of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. It is a cute suburb on the outskirts of Downtown Dallas that features the closeness and flexibility of downtown living with the community feel of the suburbs. However, one of the only downfalls of the area, and something that comes as a bit of a shock, is that this area really does not have much in the way of local pet services.

Although there are a few trusted places that a local can go for basic needs, this area definitely leaves something to be desired in range of options and specialty locations that can be really helpful if your pet needs a little extra care. That being said, some grooming salons that are still bringing in amazing reviews are Sparta Pet Palazzo and Pets Need Nannies Too. There are also some great hospitals, clinics, and shelters nearby.

Vickery Park is much like most of the DFW area in that it is extremely flat. It is almost impossible to find a single hilly path in this area. Although this can be disappointing to some serious hikers, overall, there are some unique perks to living on especially flat terrain. One of these perks are especially important to parents of young children. The flat walking paths are slightly higher in safety than more hilly terrain. This is partially due to the obvious fact of easier walking on flat areas.

Sometimes high hills or quick drops can make walking, biking, and driving slightly harder. There is also the added safety of using less energy to walk on flatter paths which can be very important to not overheating during the hotter summer months that are very common to the region. This area is also very artificial, which is very common for the area.

Although this area cannot hold any really amazing natural sights like mountain ranges or large lakes due to its geographical location, there are still several great options when it comes to calm neighborhood parks. These parks may not seem like much, but when great upkeep meats safety and exciting kid-friendly features, this park can really be a great staple of some local daily routines.

One great park that is perfect for children and pups alike is Harrington Park. This park is truly built around a family fun experience with an elegant gazebo, a pavilion, a playground, a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and a long series of peaceful paved trails.

Another great park that will not only keep your whole family active, but keep their minds engaged as well is Haggard Park. The Interurban Railway Museum, combined with a playground, old railway-style gazebo, and lots of green space creates a fun and exciting adventure packed into a cute neighborhood park.
