Whispering Oaks is a very upscale and beautiful part of Dallas that is a bit further off the beaten path. Although this area is beautiful, it is one of the most spaced out in Dallas, so there is not the easy access to businesses and restaurants that you would traditionally find in the DFW region. This can be very inconvenient and has a real effect of the number of pet services nearby.

Although there are not nearly as many as most would hope, there are a few convenient locations that may help shorten your errand run just a bit. Unfortunately, there is not really anything in the way of pet supply stores, veterinarians, pet hospitals, or pet specialty stores. Really, the only pet related store you could have easy access to are a few good grooming locations. South Paws Grooming Edmond OK and Golden Poodle Grooming have amazing ratings which is to be expected in such a high end area.

This area is a very rare piece of the DFW puzzle. This is due to the combination of three factors, the first being the naturally flat terrain of the area. This not only limits the walkability of the area, but also lends itself to a more artificial surrounding. However, the last two factors shake things up a bit. Both living in a more high end community and living in a city known for its park growth initiatives lends the area to being more natural than normal in Dallas. This combination creates a really nice suburb environment that is mostly artificial and flat, but has some exciting elements as well.

A neighborhood walk is also significantly more enjoyable in this area than some. This is partially due to the very wide and well kept sidewalks that are in nearly the entire area as well as the large and beautifully maintained lawns lining these walkways.

Although this area is beautiful and more spread out than most in the Dallas area, there are actually less established parks than you would expect. Although this can be a bit of a let down, the parks that are here are beautiful, well maintained, and very safe. They are perfect options for anyone from a single twenty-something looking for a quiet walk with their favorite pet to a family of five wanting to get their kids and pets outside and active.

One great neighborhood example of this is Mitch Park. This beautiful 280-acre park has plenty of trails, a skate park, playgrounds, a disc golf course, and picnic tables all throughout. Although this park is an incredible must see, for those residents who would prefer a park less full of activities, Johnson Park is the way to go. This park has the same well kept and safe environment with just a playground, picnic tables, and lots of green space.
