Pinewood Place is a suburban neighborhood on the north side of Houston, Texas. There are no restaurants, shops, or services within walking distance for area residents. There is, however, an administrative office for the mobile home community and a communal recreation area with a pool and playground that can be reached on foot.

When walking your dog in Pinewood Place, you rarely have to worry about cold weather as Houston's climate is warm most of the year. Occasional freezing rain may occur in winter months and can make walking treacherous, so wait until surfaces thaw before venturing out with your pup as slips and falls can cause injuries in your dog! Summer temperatures can be extremely hot and heat-related illnesses can be a factor if you don’t take precautions. Walk at cooler times of the day with your pup, pack water, and try to find shady places for longer treks in summer months.

There are canals along the east and west side of the Pinewood Place neighborhood that also create impediments and you will want to skirt around these when traveling on foot.

You can visit this greenway with your leashed pet and walk around the lake, but be sure to clean up after them to be respectful to other community members.

Burroughs Park is a short drive to the north and provides a large natural space with trails to hike with your dog for a great outing with your canine companion.
