Pinewood Place is a suburban neighborhood on the north side of Houston, Texas. There are no restaurants, shops, or services within walking distance for area residents. There is, however, an administrative office for the mobile home community and a communal recreation area with a pool and playground that can be reached on foot.
When walking your dog in Pinewood Place, you rarely have to worry about cold weather as Houston's climate is warm most of the year. Occasional freezing rain may occur in winter months and can make walking treacherous, so wait until surfaces thaw before venturing out with your pup as slips and falls can cause injuries in your dog! Summer temperatures can be extremely hot and heat-related illnesses can be a factor if you don’t take precautions. Walk at cooler times of the day with your pup, pack water, and try to find shady places for longer treks in summer months.
Pinewood Place is a manufactured and mobile home community. This region is heavily wooded with large trees on lots and in the surrounding area. A large wooded area is situated around Willow Creek on the community's north side. There are canals along the east and west side of the Pinewood Place neighborhood that also create impediments and you will want to skirt around these when traveling on foot.
The terrain is flat and not difficult to travel around. There are, however, no sidewalks in the area and you and your pet will need to share the road with local traffic. Keep them leashed as you stroll!
Pinewood Place is a suburban neighborhood with lots of trees, canals along both sides, and a wooded area to the north with a creek. You can enjoy walking your dog in these green spaces near the community, however, there are no maintained trails, so use caution after flash floods when footing can be treacherous. A communal recreational green space is also available in the community with a playground and pool near some lawns and trees.
The Miramar Lake housing complex on the east side of Pinewood Place has a beautiful artificial lake with manicured grounds and a trail around the water. You can visit this greenway with your leashed pet and walk around the lake, but be sure to clean up after them to be respectful to other community members.
Burroughs Park is a short drive to the north and provides a large natural space with trails to hike with your dog for a great outing with your canine companion.
