“A walk a day keeps the vets away!”

Hey there! I’m a bilingual dog walker, pet sitter and pet care taker. At 16 years old, I relinquished sports to work at a vets office, and ever since there was no way back. Richmond is a hot spot for dog lovers/friendly people and allows for adventurous short or long walks. Favorite things about walking dogs besides the walk, is meeting your pups’ quirks, catch and plays. Check out the rest of my profile to see how I can help! Hablo espanol!

“I respect and nurture a dogs needs!”

I am currently the proud owner of a Deer Chihuahua. Additionally, I have walked many dogs throughout my life and absolutely enjoy their companionship! Growing up in a family of six, we had five dogs, varying in sizes and personalities. I admire a dogs playful nature and believe in the importance of meeting their daily needs, such as receiving regular excercise, fresh water, food, and lots of love!

“Experienced dog walker ready to love on your pet!”

Hi! I am Elizabeth and I am a senior in college studying Violin Performance. I grew up in Upstate NY on a farm with lots of animals. My passion was dogs and I got my first border collie when I was 13. As I grew older I became interested in breeding and training border collies and had several litters of puppies before I left for college. My dog Izzy currently lives with my parents where she is much happier than she would be in an apartment, and I look forward to seeing her when I go home.

“I love being a part of the puppy pack!”

I have a lot of experience walking dogs. I am very active and I love taking dogs on trails and hikes. Dogs are literally my life. I am a dog trainer full time and my godchild, Noor is a black lab. Noor needs a lot of exercise and we typically walk many miles until she gets tired! (Which seems like never) I love taking noor camping and being outdoors is our favorite!

“Exceptional Service including Covid 19 precautions”

I enjoy walking dogs, because it combines two of my favorites: dogs and the outdoors. I've been walking dogs for many years now, and I like seeing them enjoy all of the smells, sights and sounds of a walk. I think that healthy walks are vital to their health and wellbeing. I'm looking forward to walking your pup(s). I always strive to give 5 star service, so if you think of anything that would make the walk exceptional, please don't hesitate to let me know. Thank You!

Dog Walking in Sandston

After WWI, an investment group, with Oliver J. Sands as their head, bought the land that is today Sandston, which was named after him. Sandston is just 8 miles from the center of Virginia's capital city, Richmond. No need to travel to find quality vet care -- Sandston has two veterinary hospitals that will tend to your pup's health. But, if you need specialty or emergency care, you can head to Richmond and its surrounding areas.

Places in Sandston where you can lodge with your dog include Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Richmond Airport, Motel 6 Sandston, Americas Best Value Inn Sandston, and Best Western Plus Richmond Airport Hotel, among others. Be sure to check the pet policies for each accommodation.

When it comes to going out and visiting a bar or a restaurant with your pooch, Sandston doesn't have much to offer pet owners. Visit Mexico Restaurant for some Mexican food, or head to the capital, where you will be able to choose from more than 95 dog-friendly eateries!

While you're in Richmond, you absolutely have to visit Maymont, which is a 100-acre Victorian estate and public park. There, you can visit museums, gardens, and a carriage collection, admire the wildlife, and plenty more. Dogs are allowed on-leash, and you have to clean up after them in order to keep the park clean.

Barker Field at Byrd Park is a great park that you and your canine companion can visit near Sandston. It is located in Byrd Park, which is around 13 miles away from Sandston. The park is securely fenced and allowed pups to roam off their leashes. In the summer, the park provides water, but when it's colder, you should bring your own. You should keep in mind that this park has plenty of doggie visitors almost at all times, so if you have a timid and shy doggo, this might not be the best place for you. The good news is, all breeds are allowed!

Six miles west of Sandston is another place suitable for some doggie play. Church Hill Dog Park at Chimborazo Park is located in the Chimborazo neighborhood of Richmond. The dog park is fenced, and doggies are welcome to play and explore off-leash. If you decide to take your pooch here, we advise you to bring water and poop baggies with you. If you aren't impressed with the fenced area, you can always roam outside of it with your leashed doggo. The great thing about this park is that it has three cool-down stations where pups can dip their paws!

Rockwood Park

Twenty-two miles away from Sandston, you can find the Ruff House Dog Park at Rockwood Park. This park is very clean and well-maintained, with a fence that will keep your canine buddy safe. The park provides two separate areas where small and big pooches can play separately. Seasonal drinking water is available; if you visit during the colder months, bring water with you. The watering area tends to get muddy, so bringing a towel is a good idea. The shade is limited, so maybe avoid the park during the warmest periods of the day. Benches and seating areas are provided as well.

Forest Hill

Thirteen miles away from Sandston, in Forest Hill, you can visit another park for your pooch called Phideaux Field at Forest Hill Presbyterian Church. This is a private park that has a fenced, grassy area in which your pup can have a great time. Unlike the previous parks, this park is rarely crowded. If you're seeking a much calmer environment for your dog, this is the place for you. Plenty of bowls are provided here, but you have to bring your own water with you. Poop baggies are often provided as well, and, of course, benches for the comfort of the dog pawrents!

Another 13 miles away from Sandston, you can walk your dog along the James River, in James River Park, Richmond. This place is pawfect for those who prefer a calm walk with their leashed canine friends while enjoying beautiful views. Your pup can cool down in the river or in the streams that go through the park. There are also opportunities to canoe with your dog if you're into water sports. Plenty of people let their dogs off-leash, but that is against the park's regulations. If you decide to visit, take waste bags with you as well as fresh water for your pooch.
