Dog Walking in Yorktown

Yorktown is, together with Williamsburg and Jamestown, one of the three original towns of colonial Virginia and one of the oldest towns in the States. Yorktown is mostly a historical and tourist town, and most residents of York County live in one of the surrounding towns. Dog owners are still very welcome to Yorktown, no matter how long the stay.

The biggest attraction of Yorktown, the Yorktown Battlefield, is also open for dogs. Yes, that is correct, dog owners do not have to miss the final, conclusive battle of the Revolutionary War. Dogs are allowed at most areas of the battlefield if they are on leash with the National Cemetery as the sole exception.

Dog owners also do not have to miss the Yorktown Riverwalk Landing. This seaport was built in the colonial days and has been updated to a modern waterfront with everything that you would expect. And as a plus, some restaurants and stores do accept dogs in their store on the patio.

The town of Yorktown, Virginia, has less than 200 citizens and is not a permanent residence for most. Pet owners that visit Yorktown can choose between the following pet-friendly hotels in York Town: TownePlace Suites by Marriott, Candlewood Suite, Comfort Inn and Staybridge Suites.
