Weather in Seattle is cold and rainy in winter and a warm, waterproof jacket and footwear is recommended for dog walkers. Sometimes precipitation turns to sleet and snow when temperatures drop below freezing, creating treacherous conditions on walkways in the region. Wait for surfaces to thaw or use extreme caution so neither you nor your pooch is injured. Summers are warm and sunny with less rain. Extreme heat and storms are usually not an issue during summer months which makes this season ideal.

This neighborhood is a well developed urban area with multi-story buildings. Residents of the area live in these multi-story apartment and condominium buildings. For such a central, developed neighborhood, Belltown and Denny Triangle are surprisingly well landscaped with large trees and greenery than one would expect, given the nature of the area.

The region used to be hilly, but has been leveled and is now relatively flat with no steep hills to climb. The area is heavily trafficked, although there are separate sidewalks for pedestrians and pets. Use caution when crossing at intersections and watch for vehicles turning that may not see you or your pet in this busy area. Your dog should be acclimatized to traffic, pedestrians, and noise as this is a busy urban district.

The neighborhood is bordered on the west side by Elliot Bay which is lined with commercial and industrial activity with piers bringing ships and watercraft to the area.
