“Can I pet and say "Hello!" to your dog?”

Hello, I'm Jessica. I've been a dog lover. If there is someone walking in the neighborhood, I usually ask to say hello to the dog first. I have been taking care of my furry friends since 1997. I have trained dogs to walk without leashes, wake me up when I stop breathing or have a nightmare, etc... I know how to give dogs oral medication, and I have taken care of dogs that experience very old age and understand their needs. I also understand puppies and love them just as much as I love any dog.

Hi! I'm a microbiologist by day but caring for dogs is my passion. I've lived with multiple dogs in my household since I was young, in my view they are the single greatest gift our ancestors created for us. I think every dog deserves exercise and fun in their daily lives, and it's a shame that sometimes our busy schedules don't allow us to give them as much as they deserve. I'm glad to be a part of the solution to that problem!

Not only does the city feature twelve dog-friendly restaurants, but there are also dog-friendly stores, hiking trails, and tours to explore. You don’t just have to be among the rich and famous to enjoy this striking dog locale; just pack your bags for a doggy day trip, whether you be a permanent resident nearby or if you’re just passing through.

You’d be out of your doggone mind to miss out on the many locations available to explore -- not least of all the Barrique Wine and Brew Bar. This furrific Fido-friendly eatery offers any number of craft beers your heart may desire, not to mention an expansive wine list to choose from (featuring over 30 wines)! Your darling dog will be welcome to join you on the outdoor patio, which offers beautiful views of the lake and beaches. The first destination on your doggy day trip to-do list should, without a doubt, be Lake Shore Drive, where you’ll find the beautiful Lakeshore Path. An expansive paved path that circles the lake, you’re welcome to bring your leashed dog here and get in a nice morning jog or just a casual stroll. The best part of this locale is the scenery, which can’t be beat with a stick (not even that big one your dog found). Bring some fresh drinking water to keep both puppy and yourself hydrated -- this could be one long walk, if you make it one.

If you’re in Lake Geneva, you absolutely can’t miss out on the Lake Geneva Canopy Tours. The tours feature a number of exciting activities, including zip lines and the titular Canopy Tours. If it’s just you and Fido, though, don’t worry! There are still plenty of hiking and biking trails for the two of you to explore as long as your pup pal is on his trusty little leash. Dogs are more than welcome in this area -- you’re encouraged to bring Fido along, as long as you don’t leave him unattended and you pick up after your precious pup, of course.

Before you even think about getting some tasty treats for yourself, make your way to Main Street. Once you get there, definitely pop in with your pup to Paws For Treats, a specialty store that carries, as you can probably guess, delicious treats, including chewables like USA-made rawhide. This store isn’t a one trick puppy by any means, however. They also carry collars and leashes, as well as beds and bowls and anything else your pup might need. Not sure what you want? Let your diva doggy check out their selection of specialty items. You can’t go wrong there!

Once you’ve made sure to secure some scrumptious snacks for your pup pal, you definitely need to have dinner! Only the best places allow your dog to join you, and Oakfire, on Wrigley Drive, certainly doesn’t disappoint. Your dog is more than welcome to join your delicious dinner at the outdoor dining tables, and you’ll have your choice of Italian favorites like fresh, oven-baked pizza, as well as salads and calamari. If you’ve got a bit of a sweet tooth that just can’t wait, indulge in their gelato or tiramisu. Delicious and dog friendly? What more can you ask for?

It’s a welcoming place, and your dog will be able to join you at any of their outdoor dining tables. Sample from their extensive menu and perhaps learn about the benefits of sustainability in the meantime. It is the restaurant's bread and butter, after all. A good meal, your dog at your side, and a good helping of knowledge will certainly top off your trip.
