A picture-perfect upstate New York Beach, Crescent Beach is a doggo (and a pawrent) paradise. Lined with thick, soft sand and a rocky shoreline that's just up the bend from Fleets Cove Beach Park, the Crescent Beach area is a family-friendly spot with lots of options for human entertainment, like water skiing, canoeing, playgrounds, picnic areas, and ideal sunset spots.
It's also a pup's haven, too. Though your pup must hang out on-leash during special hours, this sunny beach is a summer must-visit with a thin strip of shoreline that's perfect for your doggo to run on. It's unspecified whether your pup can swim freely in the ocean, but they can surely dip their paws in the chilly Atlantic Ocean water. It's unlikely that poop bags will be available for you and your pup, so make sure that you plan ahead and bring your own bags to carry out the goods when you and your doggo are done playing.
Though it costs a fee (whether you're a resident or not) that spans anywhere from $25 for the day to about $230 for the season, it's a worthwhile adventure for your pooch if you're comfortable visiting with him or her (on-leash) during the appropriate hours. Pup are permitted to enjoy the beach with their pawrents before 9am and after 6pm in order to not disturb a majority of the beach-going folks. There are plenty of leash-free beach areas nearby for you and your doggo to visit, so if your pup prefers a little off-leash freedom, check out a few of the other Suffolk area beach parks for your pooch (like Prospect Park Dog Beach in Brooklyn!)
