The are tons of trails you can hike with your dog before you hit the dog-friendly beach to cool off in the water. The Yanty Creek Marsh area is a self-guided trail of about one mile that offers scenic views. Furthermore, you will find over six miles of hiking, walking, and biking trails to choose from as well. This beach and park offer heaps of amenities as well. Boating, camping, grills, food, pavilions, picnic tables, playgrounds for the kids, restrooms, and showers by the water area stud the park and make your experience fun and convenient.
Dogs are allowed almost everywhere in the park, but they must always wear their leash at all times. Dogs are not allowed in most of the human swimming areas and beaches. During the off-season, you can bring your dog to the beach and let them run in the sand and play in the water. However, they will still need to have their leash on. There may or may not be poop bags provided, so bring your own just in case. Always pick up after your pup and respect the other people and dogs who are at the beach as well.
Overall, this park and beach are a great spot to take your dog for some fun in the sun and water. Although there is no designated dog beach, there are plenty of dog-friendly locations throughout the park you and your dog can enjoy together.
