This beach is a very popular destination for dog lovers and is currently in the process of adding 200 extra feet of beach to fill the extra capacity needs. The addition will add an additional 200 feet of water front beach on the east park. The downside is that your pup doesn't have full freedom and must be on a leash that is no longer than eight feet.
To help keep the area clean and usable for other dog owners, the parks include disposable bags, bins, and handy wipes for your pooch's waste. Please dispose of it properly to ensure others can keep using the area. Violations to this courtesy will be cited by Escambia County Animal Control Officers and owners will be subjected to a fine. Due to recent citations, there is a now a full time control officer on scene at all times to ensure owner's are following the rules.
Due to the small size of the beach, there aren't many naturally shaded areas. With that, please keep in mind that your pup gets hot in the sun. The sand can also burn your dog's feet. Please plan to bring shade, water, and a resting area for your pup to keep them happy and safe!
