Description
The gentle beauty of oak and hickory trees, babbling brooks, and a crystal-clear lake makes for the perfect location to camp with your dog. The Iron Mountain campground is such a place, located on the southern shore of DeGray Lake among the Ouachita Mountains. The Caddo River feeds the lake that spans over 13500 acres. The lake is stocked with game fish such as striped bass.

It is a perfect place for boating, fishing, swimming, and kayaking. Several trails are in the area for mountain biking, hiking, and horseback riding. In the nearby area, there are golf courses and tennis courts in the Lake DeGray State Park. The Ouachita National Forest and Hot Springs National Park are also located nearby. Visitors to the area describe it as quiet and beautiful.

The campground has a total of 69 campsites. There are 39 RV electric sites and 30 electric sites for tents. In addition to the heated showers and bathrooms, there is a boat ramp, playground, and marina. The peak season is from May to September.

This is considered to be a full-service campground. While camping offers the opportunity to appreciate the wildlife and nature, it is important to remember that the animals are attracted to food and garbage. Take the appropriate precautions to store food properly and to place your waste in the designated containers.

Dogs are allowed in the campground. They must be on a six-foot leash when not in your RV or tent. Do not forget to pack poop bags for the campsite and your outings. Be a good citizen and clean up after your dog. Never leave your dog unattended when camping. As a general rule, dogs are allowed wherever cars can go. As you prepare to venture onto the trails or to explore the area, make sure you check if there are trails that do not allow dogs. Keep your dog leashed and near to you. Enjoy the precious time together.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
