Archer Park in Chicago may be pups on-leash only, but all the pooches from the local area love going there with their families. It's ideal for pet parents with young humans in their pack too, as there is so much for them to do in this thirteen and a quarter acre park.
While the pooches get to walk around the super spacious grassy areas, on-leash of course, the kids can head for the climbing frames at the children's playground to work off all their pent-up energy. If pet parents are in need of exercise, there's a pawsome outdoor gym for them to flex their muscles, and their fur buddy won't mind waiting one bit while they do. They may even manage a motivational howl or two. A fit and healthy pet parent means more weekly walks – smart K9's. The pooches do get jealous during the summertime though, when the kids get to play in the interactive water features the park has for them, and the doggos don't.
Chicago pups, although they're not permitted to join in, are great spectators of the football and soccer games which take part in Archer Park, and know a well-scored goal when they see one. They're not so keen on horseshoe and basketball, but you never know, the local pups just might be converted to fans of the sports one day.
Be sure to bring water for your fur buddy, and clean up bags and help keep this lovely park pristine. One thing not to miss with your best fur buddy is the summertime open-air movie nights. Settle down together on the grass and share a bucket of pawpcorn. Now that's a pawsome thing to do with your pooch!
