Armour Square Park is a pawsome 10 acre park in Chicago which any pooch would be happy to get some exercise in. The park is focused on family sports and events, and pups are welcome when they're kept leashed. For anyone arriving by vehicle, there's free parking on the streets around the park.
There are bundles of different activities going on all year round in Armour Square Park. From outdoor games like basketball and volleyball to tennis courts, volleyball, and even an outdoor pool for the human visitors. There's also a children's playground and a gym in the park's clubhouse. At Eastertime, there are egg hunts, and in the summer, an outdoor cinema, as well as many other festive parties.
Pooches of the Armour Square neighborhood and visiting canines too, get to investigate the many grassed areas which are full of trees, shady in the summer and a blaze of color in autumn. Though owners should note that chasing or barking at squirrels and birds, of which there are plenty, is out of order.
Walking along the paved pathways with their pet parents is a favorite pastime for the pups who visit this park. Bag dispensers are available, but are few and far between, and bringing some clean up bags of your own is always a good idea. Trash cans are also available to dispose of used bags. Bring water too for your and your pup, especially in warmer months.
If you're at Armour Square Park and your buddy is one of the nervous types, be prepared for them to be surprised by the spontaneous cheers erupting from the nearby US Cellular Field, home to the Chicago White Sox. If your doggo really doesn't like crowds and noise, avoid going to the park on game days.
For a delightfully doggilicious afternoon, head to the Amour Square Park today!
