On the beautiful Oregon Coast, only a few miles south of Newport, Beachside State Recreation Site is a beautiful spot to spend the weekend or just the day with family and furry friends. Camping and day use at Beachside State Recreation Site is open daily, but only seasonally, between March 15 through October 31. There is no fee for parking or day-use, only for facility reservations and overnight visits.

Beachside State Recreation Site offers miles of sandy beach, which is a perfect destination for walks, flying kites, or watching for whales. The park has trails for both hiking and biking, as well as spots for picnicking. With beach access comes plenty of room to enjoy the sand, fish in the sea, and play with your family or pets.
Beachside State Recreation Site is also a perfect waypoint. Within 30 miles of the park are visitor centers, tide pools, hiking and driving trails, several lighthouses, and even spots to fish, swim, or look for clams and crabs. For overnight visitors, the park offers a range of campsites, from basic tent sites to those with electrical hookups, or even yurts, some of which are even pet-friendly.
Every campsite is near the beach, and are excellent spots to watch the waves or sunsets. You can make camping reservations on the Beachside State Recreation Site website or by phone. Fees vary by type of facility. When bringing your dog to state parks or public recreation areas, be respectful of park rules and other guests. Keep your pet leashed or under control while visiting the Beachside State Recreation Site. Do not bring aggressive dogs or dogs who may bother other visitors or local wildlife.
