In Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, not far from Pittsburgh sits the city of Murrysville. This city boasts that they are the gateway to Westmoreland County. This beautiful city with its lovely homes and manicured lawns offers many things to do for every citizen including the four-legged kind. Murrysville has several nice dog parks including Bear Hollow Trail Off-Leash Dog Area.
This park and trail have a lot to offer both humans and dogs alike There are a playground, tennis courts and even a baseball field. Alongside Bear Hollow is a lovely meandering river creating great scenic views. For your dog, there is an off-leash field that is not fenced but it is a nice area to run and play. Dogs are welcomed within the park, just not in the playground area. There is also a 5-mile trail that you and your dog can explore, off-leash of course.
You will find trash cans throughout the park and trail, however, it is recommended you bring your own water and doggie wastes bags to the park. The park does not usually have waste bags available. As in most parks, you should always clean up after yourself and your dog so that everyone may enjoy the park. Your dog should have a good understanding of voice commands and come when called. Also, keep in mind that there is a city ordinance that states dogs must be leashed when not in designated off-leash areas.
Bear Hollow Trail Off-Leash Dog is a wonderful place for you and your pet to relax, have some fun, socialize and explore the great outdoors. This lovely park is a favorite among locals and visitors to the area and in peak season can get a little busy. However, it is such a friendly park with fun activities for everyone that you won't want to miss out on taking a visit while you are in the area.
