The Brands Park is a pawrific place to take your fur buddy for a leg stretch if you're in the Avondale neighborhood of Chicago. They'll love to take a long walk on their leash through the five and a quarter acres which Brands Park covers. Vehicle parking is available on the street right by the park, though it can get busy at times and spaces may be hard to find.
This great patch of parkland was originally established in the early 1920's, and named after the American-German who owned it then. Back in those times, the park was a popular place for settlers to hold gatherings and picnics which many folks still do today. The park is pawrfect for that type of activity, as there are huge, leafy trees to sit under which are woofderfully shady.
Brands Park has plenty of amenities too. There are ballfields, tennis courts and a playground for mini humans. Add to those two clubrooms, a fully equipped gymnasium, plus lots of clubs for children and teenagers, and the park sums up to be quite a social hub where families can get together to enjoy some sporting activities.
Pups need to be leashed while at Brands Park, and often enjoy wandering the park's pathways which meander around the perimeter, or exploring all those acres of grass. Pet parents need to take supplies of clean up bags and water with them. There are trash cans for disposing of used bags every few yards or so, which is pawsomely convenient. Don't forget to ensure your pup is properly vaccinated and licensed before taking them for an outing in the park. If you don't take a picnic, don't forget the doggy treats.
Have a furrific time in Brands Park with your pup!
