It is important to note that North Carolina legislation requires all dogs visiting shoreline properties to remain on a lead of no less than six feet in length at all times. At no time is off-leash play permitted at a public facility. In addition to this, dogs are prohibited from visiting sidewalks, walkways, and public property on any beach in North Carolina. For those wishing for some off leash time for their dog, nearby Mike Chappell Park offers fully fenced enclosures suitable for off-lead play.
Poop bags are not provided at Carolina Beach Town Beach; however, owners are require by law to carry bags with them. Random checks are conducted by beach management to ensure that all visitors with dogs comply with all by-laws. Failure to abide by the leash and/or poop bag laws results in a fine of $250.
Access to this public beach is free of charge. Bathrooms are available on site; however, it is not known if fresh water is provided on site. To help keep Fido well-hydrated, owners should bring a bottle of water and a suitable drinking container with them.
Though no specific regulations govern the use of the beach, it is highly recommended that all dogs be current on their vaccinations. In addition to this, it is advisable for all dogs to wear the appropriate required state license tag on their collars. For a fun day at the beach, bring Fido and the family to Carolina Beach Town Beach!
