The Castle Crags State Park covers almost 4,000 acres of lively green forests and rugged granite peaks. Open all year round for visitors who want a real taste of nature, this park offers a wide range of fun activities to keep its guests entertained no matter what the weather.
The campsites available at Castle Crags State Park feature bathrooms with flush toilets and coin-operated showers, to make your stay comfortable and carefree. Each campground also has an old stone oven and a campfire pit in a metal ring, where you can cook delicious meals and tasty marshmallows.
Throughout the campsites, you will find water spigots as well. As of 2018, renting a campsite costs $25 per night and reservations are only acceptable during the summer season. The rest of the year the rule "first come, first serve" applies. Castle Crags State Park is the ideal place for both adventure seekers and quiet time lovers.
As a pet-friendly place, you are allowed to bring Fido with you and enjoy the wilderness together. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed on the hiking trails. They are, however, welcomed on the campsites as long as they are wearing a leash. There is enough room on the campground for Fido to play, sniff and discover new places. As a friendly reminder, bear in mind that cleaning after your dog is essential, so don't forget to pack an extra waste bag.
You are free to park your car at the campground, but keep in mind that there is an additional $10 fee for a second vehicle. Some sites are also suited for RVs up to 27 feet long. All in all, Castle Crags State Park is a beautiful destination where families can taste new adventures, discover the wildlife and take their furry companions for a fun time in nature. Come, check this place out!
