If you only have a short bit of time to enjoy being outdoors with your furry friend, then Cornell Park is the place you want to be! Located in the city of Chicago, Illinois, this small park offers a bit of nature within the booming metropolis.
You will find Cornell Park in the Hyde Park Community of the city, and parking is easily found on the surrounding streets. This small park offers the break you need from your daily schedule to reconnect with nature.
Surrounded by residential homes and small shopping areas, this pocket park was constructed with the neighborhood’s well-being in mind. Needing a place where children could play, and people could relax, Cornell Park was designed for the community. Take a stroll on the paved paths and let Fido stretch his legs. This is the perfect location for an elderly pup as the ground is flat and the walk will not be too long. If you just want to relax, grab a seat on the park benches throughout, all while under the shade of the magnificent mature trees. Many of these were preserved when the park was built in the 1950’s, and offers a cool place to sit during those intense hot spells of the summer months.
If you have children, they can play on the playground which features a soft footing in case of any falls. And there is a large, grassy area where imagination is used to make your own adventure. Be sure to keep this park pup-friendly by cleaning up after Fido. You will need to provide your own mutt mitts, and don’t forget plenty of bottled water, especially during the midsummer months of the year. There are no restrooms here so please plan accordingly.
Cornell Park is just what you need for some outdoor time with your furry friend.
