The Downtown Dog Park at Lincoln Park is located on Broadway and Pacific Avenue. It is a historical area of the city that is being updated and renovated. This quaint dog park is the newest addition and invites all residents with a four-legged fur buddy to visit. All pets need to have proof of vaccinations and licensing. Tags need to be placed on your dog’s collar to assure other pet parents your dog is vaccinated.
Dogs that exhibit aggressive behavior need to be removed from the Downtown Dog Park area as quickly as possible. Pet owners are responsible for leashing their dog immediately and escorting them off the property in a fast and safe manner. Dogs that bite or injure humans or other dogs should not return the dog park for safety reasons.
The Downtown Dog Park at Lincoln Park has two areas available for dogs to run around and play, one for the smaller or senior dogs and the other for larger dogs. The dog park is large overall, but the separation has created two well-sized lots with green grass for dogs to enjoy after being cooped up inside all day.
Pet parents will be happy to learn there are benches available throughout the designated area to relax while they watch their dog play. There is also a doggie waste station that provides free plastic bags to clean up after dogs. However, pet parents should always bring a few extra plastic bags in case the dispenser is out during the time of your visit.
There are a double entrance and exit gate to assure the dogs don’t escape as visitors come and go. The park is fenced-in, but if you think your dog will escape through the gate, the double feature helps relieve your worries. Overall, this is a convenient dog park to visit on a daily basis. Dogs can get plenty of exercise and socialize with other dogs while you sit and relax on the available benches.
