El Pescadero Dog Park (aka Cora K-9 Facility)

The El Pescadero Dog Park, formally called Cora K-9 Facility, and also known as the Tracy Dog Park, is in the San Francisco exurb of Tracy, California. The park is named after Cora, the first police dog in Tracy. 

The El Pescadero Park is a nice city park, with an updated playground, soccer fields, a baseball diamond, and a good sized skate park. There are a sizeable green space and picnic facilities, including some barbecues. In addition to all of that, there's a nicely sized dog park, complete with poop bags, a water fountain for your puppers, benches, and plenty of shade. There are also some agility activities so your dog can get extra exercise, placed in memory of Cora.

So the Cora K-9 Facility, AKA the El Pescadero Dog Park, is a nicely put together dog park. What makes it really neat is the fact that there is a completely separate run for small dogs under 35 pounds. It is 1/3 of an acre and, while it doesn't have the agility items of the bigger dog park or the water fountain, it does have benches and poop bags. It is the first truly separate small dog park in the San Joaquin Valley.

The El Pescadero Park is open twenty-four hours and as befits a park named after a K-9 officer, there are regular police visits. There are no breed restrictions to the park, and no age restrictions for children, but of course, your fur babies and your human babies should always be watched. The dog park and the small dog enclosure are leash-free, but the rest of the park is not, so make sure you leash up your buddy before leaving.

Tracy may be a small town, but judging by the size, and attention paid toward it's dog park, it has a big heart.
