A very dog-fur-iendly facility, Harrison Park welcomes doggoes with both paws. However, pooches are not permitted in the museum, fieldhouse, or pool. In all other areas of this pawpular spot, Fido may join you for your day of fun, but he must remain on a leash. The Chicago pawlice will thank you for carefully observing their leash laws!
This woofderful park takes its name from pawpular five-term mayor, Mr. Carter H. Harrison, who was assassinated by a dismayed candidate running against him during his fifth term election race. There are tons of pawrific things for you and your best canine pal to do at this furrific park. Some of the wooftastic athletic opportunities you can enjoy with your main canine squeeze along for the ride include tennis, basketball, baseball, and playing frisbee or fetch on the multi-purpose turf-lined field. Fancy something a little different? Grab Fido's leash and take off in search of the pawsitively gorgeous gardens You and your fave pooch will work up an appetite, for sure! After your walk, cop a squat on the grass and savor a picnic lunch fit for a king. When you pack your picnic bag, don't forget to include some drinking water and a snack or two unless you plan to share! Be sure to throw in some cleanup bags too.
Harrison Park also offers movies in the park and after-school programs for kiddies and adults to enjoy. Though there are no doggo classes in the works at this time, you can bring your pupperoni along to enjoy an outdoor movie. Just be certain to give him his own bowl of popcorn if you hope to eat yours by yourself!
For a day of fun for Fido and the whole fam, plan a trip to Harrison Park. People and their pooches give it two paws up!
