Do you and your pup need a quiet getaway right in the middle of city life? Then head over to the Heritage Green Park in the city of Chicago, Illinois. You will find a peaceful portion of nature that you and Fido can enjoy some time together in the great outdoors.
Located just off the Near West Community, Heritage Green Park offers a one-acre piece of land which is beautifully landscaped and pup-friendly. You can find parking along the streets surrounding the park or in a nearby parking garage.
This community park is also known by long-time residents as Park No. 537, but was dedicated and renamed in honor of its historical importance to this neighborhood. It represents the original intent of park to serve as a town green where people can gather and enjoy community time together.
There are benches to sit and relax and enjoy the sites of the surrounding skyscrapers, or you can take a stroll along the paved paths which run through the park. There is a famous sculpture to admire in the southwest portion of Heritage Green and many beautifully landscaped grounds throughout. Sit and cool yourself in the shade of these wonderful trees and shrubs which make a lovely backdrop for a selfie of you and your pup’s furrific day!
Be sure to keep Fido on leash while visiting here, and bring mutt mitts to keep this park puptastic for everyone to enjoy. There are no water fountains, so pack your own water bottles, especially during the hot, summer Chicago summers. Also be sure to bring clean up bags. Restrooms are not provided at this park, so please plan accordingly.
