The Ironhorse RV Resort Dog Park is in Elko, Nevada. This dog park is for use by the patrons of the RV campsite and their pups. The off-leash dog park is one of many amenities the RV resort offers its guests. The resort also provides cottage-style accommodation as well as having an on-site clubhouse and swimming pools.
If you've been traveling around Nevada in your RV, it's nice to know you can park somewhere which is dog-friendly. This RV park takes their appreciation of our four-legged friends one step further by providing pups with their own enclosure to get some off-leash time. That's great if they've been cooped up in the wagon for a while. As much as dogs love accompanying their pet parent on trips, driving for hours without much chance of a run around is tiresome for them.
While the off-leash compound isn't huge by any means, it's clean, surfaced with small grade gravel, and fenced in with eight-foot chain-link. No pup can escape from inside and disappear into the desert. The dog park doesn't have a security staging area though, so making sure the gate is closed before letting a pup off their leash is a must. So is properly leashing a dog before leaving. This well maintained dog park has a proper waste station with poop bags and trash receptacle.
Elko is a great town to use as a base for exploring Nevada. There are so many different activities to enjoy in the area and plenty of places where you can take your pet with you. Hiking and rock climbing are popular, though most pups would prefer the primary recreation over the latter. If you've got a dog with a good nose, you might strike lucky, and it'll sniff you out a gold nugget while you're walking through the hills.
