A quaint park awaits you and your pawtastic friend within the hustle and bustle of the city of Chicago, Illinois, but situated so you wouldn’t know that you are that close! Pack up your pup and head to the Jane Addams Memorial Park if you are wanting to spend some quality time with Fido, but can’t get away from ‘city life’ too long!
Jane Addams Park is a smaller-sized park located close to the Near North Community and the Ohio Street Beach. It is dedicated to the Nobel Peace Prize winter, Jane Addams, who worked hard to make this a community for all. The famous Navy Pier is just down the road which is a larger tourist attraction that visitors frequent when in Chicago.
Take a stroll down the paved pathway for some exercise which is the best way to enjoy this park. Fido is welcome on leash, so take your time and enjoy the landscaped grounds and this tree-lined path. It is also handicapped and stroller accessible. You will see many moms, children, and lots of puperific dogs enjoying some time together at this park. This park is spacious enough to lay out a blanket or sit on the provided benches to enjoy the lake views. Either way, Fido will enjoy his time with you here. There is a rack for those traveling by bicycle where you can park it while enjoying the grounds.
If you want to extend your day a bit, you and your furry friend can take a walk down the Lake Shore Trail nearby, or even rent one of the many bicycles stationed here for additional fun with pup. Or continue north and west along the paths for additional outdoor fun with pup at the Milton Lee Olive Park along water’s edge.
