If your doggo has been lying around the house all day, clip on their leash and head over to Lawler Park. Serving the pets and people of the Clearing Community, this park sprawls across six acres of land. Besides the two paths that lead into the park, it is completely surrounded by houses. Named after an Irish immigrant that served as General in the Civil War, it’s a pawfect place to spend some quality time with your pooch!
As far as walking paths go, there's not a lot to choose from. There is just a short sidewalk that runs through the park. While your pooch will want to check it out, a
stroll down the walkway definitely will not tucker them out. Furtunately, the
park has plenty of green space where your pal is welcome to wander. However,
the two baseball diamonds make up most of the open lawn area. So before you and
your pal venture out into left field, make sure there are no games in play. There’s
no telling what your doggo will do if they get hold of the baseball!
In addition to the ball fields, Lawler Park also features a small fieldhouse that hosts after school programs and summer camps. The neighborhood kids also enjoy the pawsome playground and basketball courts. Throughout the year, special events are held in the park. Check the calendar and find one that your pup can attend. They’ll be doggone happy to have a night out!
Do your part to keep Lawler Park smelling fresh and free
of doggy debris. Bring some clean up bags from home and be sure to pick up
after your pup. Also, your four legged buddy will be most appreciative if you
have some cold water on hand. No bones about it, your dog will go mutts over
