Lovely Lindblom Park is a nearly 18-acre park complex in the West Englewood community on Chicago's South Side. It's a place where people get together and connect with neighbors through shared activities and sports leagues for adults and children alike.
Facilities operated by the park include football and baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts, a swimming pool, an outdoor track, and a gymnasium. The park's Fieldhouse, which hosts its indoor spaces, has scheduled classes and activities for adults as well as multi-purpose rooms that can be rented out by local organizations. In warmer weather, concerts and other activities are sometimes held in the park. The outdoor pool is full of splashing and laughter during the summer months.
For puppy patrons, Lindblom Park's best features are its expansive field and park spaces, walking path, and picnic area. The playground is surrounded by acres of lush green fields shaded by mature trees. As you and your dog enjoy a leashed walk together around the park, you'll feel like part of the community as you see youth football leagues practicing and young runners on the track. On quieter non-practice days, you and your pooch can use the fields yourselves. They're the perfect place for a good on-leash run! Also consider bringing a picnic lunch to enjoy at one of the many picnic tables or benches or on a blanket on the grass. In warmer months, you'll be surrounded by other people enjoying cookouts with family and friends.
The park's features, size, and location make it a local hotspot for pups. Make sure your dog is well socialized and can handle encounters with other people and dogs while restricted to a leash. You will also need to bring your own waste bags and water. The park has many trash cans for your convenience, and bathrooms for humans are located in the Fieldhouse. At times when the Fieldhouse is closed, there is usually a Port-o-Potty available on the grounds.
Bring your pup to Lindblom Park and you'll go home thinking of the smiling faces and wagging tails of the new friends you've just met.
