Named for renowned African American playwright Ms. Lorraine Hansberry, this pawsome park pays homage to one of Chicago's best-loved authors who earned the distinction of being the first African-American woman to have penned a play which was featured on Broadway. Ms. Hansberry's most famous work is A Raisin in the Sun.
Lorraine Hansberry Park is a place where doggoes are wanted and welcome! You can bring your pooch to frolic and play by your side in all areas of this pawsitively awesome natural wonderland, but you must abide by the Chicago leash laws and keep Fido on a lead at all times.
This wooftastic play space is largely comprised of wide open grass sections, but there is also a playground with many climbing structures where Fido can play king of the world and scope out his surroundings from a higher vantage point. The lawn areas are a doggone great place for picnic lunch or game of fetch. You can even just relax in the grass and take in the refreshing outdoor air with your best canine pal by your side.
