Description
Mendocino Woodlands Region finds its home in the redwood forest of Mendocino, California. Described as a "camping and environmental retreat," this property boasts of three camping areas which are all able to accommodate large groups of up to 200 people. Each camping area is equipped with a large kitchen, dining area, cabins, showers, and full bathrooms.

Reservations are required, and additional charges are applicable though it is not known what the precise cost would be at this time. This 720-acre property has been declared a National Historic Landmark and is also the oldest group camping facility in the United States. This park operates seasonally and is only open from April through November each year.

Dogs are permitted to join their families on the premises, but they are to remain on a lead at all times. Drinking water can be accessed via the on-site bathrooms. Unfortunately, there is not a specific area set aside for dog play. Owners should take care to bring poop bags with them from home to assist with all pet waste removal.

Mendocino Woodlands Region is a public, not-for-profit facility. Entrance to the grounds is provided at no cost to all people and their pooches. There are many great recreational activities available at this state park with something to suit the tastes of every member of the family.

Among the most popular attractions are hiking, viewing of wildlife in its natural habitat, fishing, and geocaching. The weather can be rather unpredictable in this region, so visitors are advised to pack clothing suitable for any climate. This area draws a number of different wildlife species including beavers, river otters, deer, and fox.

Owners must take care that their dogs do not disturb any of the wildlife and particularly not beavers who will attack if feeling threatened. Visitors to Mendocino Woodlands Region are required to comply with all California state law. To achieve this, owners must take care to ensure their dogs are up to date on vaccinations and licensed with their city. For a great time in a beautiful redwood forested area, plan a trip to Mendocino Woodlands Region!
