If Fido is looking to go for a walk, but you are short on time, be sure to check out the Myrtle Grove Park in the city of Chicago, Illinois, for a quick outing! You won’t have to leave the city to enjoy some outdoor fun with your furever friend by your side.
You will find lots of free parking on the adjacent side streets which run around the perimeter of the park in this lovely, Norwood Park residential neighborhood. You will just need their leash and off you go!
While other parks boast programs, sports fields and playgrounds, this park is made for relaxing! One small, but quaint open space is waiting for you to wander through, or hop on the sidewalks to take your puptastic friend for a walk around its boundary. Fido will love the exercise and a bit of time to roll in the fresh, green grass. If you have a few minutes, you should take advantage of the park benches which offer a place to rest your weary feet and view the surrounding homes. It is a great place for your pawtastic pup to stretch out and take a quick nap in the sunshine or sit under the shade of the trees as a cooler option!
There are no restrooms or drinking fountains here, so be sure to plan accordingly. Bring plenty of water to share, especially during the warm Chicago summers. Please also carry your own mutt mitts to clean up after your pup. This will help keep the park clean for everyone to experience. Leashes are a requirement of the city, but an extended leash is fine.
You should include Myrtle Grove Park in your day’s schedule today! Fido will be sure to thank you!
