Ogden Plaza Park is a good option for dog owners that are looking for a dog-friendly spot in Chicago’s Near North community. Although this public space was officially opened to the cities residents in 1905, it has kept its charm as a quiet spot within the city’s bustling south side area.
There is plenty of parking space all around the park. Once you are in the park, you will notice several unique features that you can explore with your pooch. One of the big attractions in the park is a giant clock carved into the upper level of the park that you can walk through with your pup. You can also watch other people realize that this is actually a giant clock.
The multi-leveled plaza also has green space that is peppered with some trees and benches to just sit and watch people walk by. In spring, the large trees bloom beautiful white flowers that are a sight to behold.
The great thing about Ogden Plaza Park is that it will not be as crowded as Lake Shore Park so you can have your quiet time with your pooch. Just remember to keep Fido on a leash and pick up after them to do your part in keeping the environment pup-friendly and clean for all. There are several trash cans in the park that you can use. For your convenience, be sure to bring some water and snacks if you intend to stay in the park for a while. It is also a good idea to bring cleanup bags so that you can ‘leave no trace’ behind.
Though short on amenitites, this puptastic spot is pawrfect for a quick stroll or lazy afternoon with your furry bestie!
