Just like Jesse Owens, your pup will be sure to run around and jump in excitement when they get to visit the open park and explore the area. Off-street parallel parking spaces are available in the north, south, and east sides of the park. A small sidewalk path encompasses the area, connecting to other winding paths that explore the inside of the park. The first trail leads you and Fido through the .5-acre field attached to the nature center, showcasing natural native prairie habitats and flower exhibits. The path turns southward, passing by a playground and enclosed tennis courts where Fido can play off-leash as long as no one is currently playing inside.
The path continues to curve through the southern part of the park, where it passes by benches, 5 picnic areas, water fountains, and shaded sitting areas, then it reconnects back to the northern half of the park. The north side of the park offers the most space to play in, with acres of grassy fields to run around and play fetch in. Also inside the northern half are four baseball diamonds, with a basketball court in the northern corner. Restrooms and water fountains are near the fieldhouse, along with trash bins and additional benches.
With room to run and play, places to walk in quiet, and a shaded area to relax in, Owens Park will be sure to bring you and Fido back for more time outside in this lovely space.
