The pet-friendly area resides on two main streets, and is pretty unique compared to most parks, as it has two separate play areas that are fenced-in, with a main narrow lawn that is open and shaded. Parking can be found along the two roads on the north and south side of the park, with sidewalks connecting the parking spots to the park. The western half of the park is a popular spot for dog walks, as it is completely fenced-in, with an enclosed basketball court and a grassy lot to play in and shade in the corner that covers a bench.
Leading out of the western area, the middle section of the park has a narrow, but long stretch of grass, with paved pathways on both sides and benches along the trail to sit at. The center area is perfect for playing and walking Fido. In the eastern section of the park, there's a winding paved path that follows under trees and leads to the children's playground on the northeast corner of the park. This newly built playground was rebuilt in 2016 and boasts a play lot, swing sets, picnic tables, and a grassy lawn surrounding the play lot. As with all public parks, keep your pup on leash, even in the fenced in areas, and bring water to share, and clean up bags.
There is plenty of room to walk and play in Park No. 500 for you and Fido. You'll have a great time in this green and grassy park.
