This park may have a plain name, but it is far from ordinary. Situated in the Near West Community, Park No. 574 used to be the location of Rockwell Gardens Housing complex. Furtunately, it is now a green space where pets and their people can enjoy a furrific afternoon out!
When it comes to pawsome amenities, this park seriously
delivers. Two legged children flock to this park to zoom down the zip line, cruise
down the 22 foot long slide, and climb all over the furrific play equipment.
The newly renovated playground sits on rubber mats so it’s completely safe for
energetic kids. During the summer there’s a water feature that makes this place
even better!
Four legged visitors will be more interested in the
puptastic walking trail that circles the park. One loop is about a quarter of a
mile, so athletic doggos will need to take several laps to get their wiggles
out. But the terrain is slightly hilly, so that will add a bit of a challenge to
your pup's workout. As you make your way around the park, stop by the fitness
stations to burn even more calories. There’s also a pommel horse and rings for
the gymnastics enthusiasts.
Park No. 574 also has plenty of open grass area to
explore. Let your dog be the guide as you wander around the lawn. If you have some extra time, bring a
blanket and picnic and stick around for lunch. Just don’t forget to pack some
biscuits for your dog!
Since this is a pupular park, it’s important to keep it free of doggy debris. Be sure to bring some clean up bags and pick up
after your pooch. Also, your pup will be most appreciative if you have some cold
water on hand. Above all else, enjoy spending time with your up in Park No.
574!
