A special outing awaits you and your pawtastic pup in the city of Chicago, Illinois. If you are looking for a unique place to take your furry friend for an outdoor excursion, look no further than Pritzker Park.
Located in the State Street Corridor of the city, near the Harold Washington Library, you will find plenty of parking in the nearby city garages, or you might even find a spot on a nearby street. Or walk over if you happen to be in the area!
Small, but special is how to describe Pritzker Park. It is only .7 acres is size, but it is dedicated for city residents and visitors as a permanent green space for relaxation. It is made up of a concrete plaza which is fun to roam around on with a raised grassy area for your pup to roll in. The wall which forms the platform for this raised, landscaped area is covered with famous passages from historic, well-known people. Circular benches and large boulders, placed in honor of famous Chicago women, dot the area with a distinctive place to sit and enjoy the cityscape views and to let your furry friend rest his tired paws. Read the quotes and be inspired! Although your pup won’t appreciate the sentiments, they will be happy to just be a part of your day outdoors!
There are no restrooms at this park nor drinking fountains, so you are encouraged to bring your own water bottles to share, especially during those hot, Chicago summers. Please watch your pup’s paw pads so they do not get overheated from the plaza’s concrete surfaces. A leash is required, and so is cleaning up after your precious pup, so be sure to bring clean up bags too.
Pritzker Park is a unique addition to your daily outing with your puptastic friend. Check it out today!
