River Park has several different amenities all geared to making use of this land in the best possible way. First stop is the River Dog Friendly Area, where your fur-ific friend will most likely want to spend the better portion of your visit! This dog park is located on the northwest side of River Park and offers lots of off-leash fun for them. The entire area is fenced in and has concrete, dirt, and gravel footing areas for different styles of play! There are doggie water fountains and play pools are put out in the summertime to let pups cool themselves.
Other River Park features include fishing and canoe launches on the river, playgrounds for the kiddos, soccer fields, tennis courts and even a few baseball diamonds. And be sure to visit the River Park Natural Area here which will immerse you into a wetland habitat right in the middle of the city. Plenty of the area’s native wildlife make this their year-round home. Restrooms, drinking fountains and park benches are scattered throughout this park. Please make use of the doggie clean up stations as well to keep this park pup-friendly.
