Visitors to this doggy play haven do note that their dogs end up quite dirty and dusty after a day of play. To this end, it is wise to bring a towel to the dog park to help clean Fido up before his car ride home. Riverbend Dog Beach, also known as Riverbend Park and Off-Leash Dog Area, is open to the public at no cost. To ensure a great day of fun at the park, the runs are complete with many different features including water access and poop bags.
As a display of responsible pet ownership, owners must clean up after their pets. This is not limited to pet waste removal but is also inclusive of any damage to the property from digging or other activities. Off-leash play is encouraged at Riverbend Dog Beach. To be certain all dogs remain safe, owners must commit to carefully monitoring all play time. In addition to this, it is mandatory for each owner to have a leash with them in case it is needed.
An additional fenced area runs the length of the on-site Deschutes River. Dogs are permitted access to this beach area and may freely swim alongside their owners. The beach is comprised largely of sand, but there are also some rocks where owners can relax while their dogs enjoy a dip on a hot day. This park is also home to family-friendly amenities such as bathrooms, picnic areas, hiking trails, and open grassy spaces.
Riverbend Dog Beach closely follows Oregon state laws by requiring that all dogs visiting their dog playground be current on vaccinations. A city dog license is also mandatory. Tags as evidence of both must be visibly displayed on each dog's collar. For a day of fun at a great beach, plan a trip to Riverbend Dog Beach!
