Statler Maloof Dog Park
Is your pup bursting with energy? Then it’s time for a trip to Statler Maloof Dog Park. Located on the southeast corner of Herman Brys Park, this off leash area was named after local businessman Fred Maloof and his beloved pup Statler.
Before your doggo can enjoy this furrific play space, you
need to submit an application and attend an etiquette class at the St. Clair
Shores Civic Arena. Be sure to also bring records of your pal’s vaccinations. Once
you have learned all about the rules and regulations, paid your membership fee,
and received a key fob, you and your pup are good to go!
Statler Maloof Dog Park has plenty of room for your pup
to run wild. Just unclip the leash and watch them have a tail waggin’ time! Bring
a ball for a game of fetch, or just let them wrestle around with their new furry
playmates. The ground is covered in grass, so your dog will have great traction
as they dart and dash around. Small dogs have their own area to play. If you
have a petite pooch, tell them not to worry, they can enjoy the park at their
own speed. Pet parents can relax at one of the picnic tables while the pups tucker
themselves out. And there is even a small overhead shelter for rainy days.
When your canine companion is ready for a break, put their leash back on and wander out into Herman Byrs Park. There is a pawsome paved path that circles around the park. A stroll around this sidewalk will give your pup a chance to cool down. No matter where you go, make sure you clean up after your dog. Also, have some fresh water on hand. After a play session at the dog park, your pup will definitely need a drink!
