Topsail Beach Off-Leash Dog Beach is one of several North Carolina beach areas which permit off-leash activity at specified times and during certain seasons. Topsail Beach Off Leash Dog Beach permits dogs to access the beach on a lead from May 15th through September 30th when the area is experiencing its peak vacation season. During the offseason, characterized as occurring from October 1st through May 14th, dogs may freely explore the designated dog areas of Topsail Beach so long as they are under the voice control of their owners. Dogs who lack a proper recall or who are not socially appropriate should remain leashed at all times.
Topsail Beach Off-Leash Dog Beach is a public facility, and entrance to the property is free of charge. This beloved dog beach does not offer a traditional fenced run suitable for off-leash play nor is there an area designated for small dog use alone. As such, there are no on-site amenities for dogs. To ensure Fido has all that he needs for a great day of fun at the beach, owners must come prepared with bottled water, a dog dish, and lawn chairs. The responsibility for all dog waste removal lies with each owner. To this end, owners are required to carry a minimum of two poop bags with them and to furnish them upon request.
Proper disposal of waste is also mandatory. Dog owners who fail to comply with all dog beach regulations are subject to a fine of $100. There are no bathrooms on the premises. Topsail Beach Off-Leash Dog Beach has not posted any official regulations regarding the use of their off-leash zone. However, vaccinations are typically mandatory as is a city dog license. Many area dog beaches also require that dogs bear identification tags on their collars. For a day of fun at a great dog beach, plan to bring Fido and the family to Topsail Beach Off-Leash Dog Beach!
