Want to go to the beach and the dog park all in one day? Then grab Scruffy and head to the Holden Beach Dog Park in North Carolina. You’re relieved that the park has separate spaces for large and small dogs so your teeny furball won’t be intimidated by larger breeds. You’re also glad to hear that a 4-foot chain-linked fence surrounds the dog park so Scruffy will be happily contained.
This park presents a wide-open field and when you visit, you can view the dense forest in the distance. Too bad there aren't more trees within the fenced area, because the park offers very little shade. You are okay with this and make sure to bring your sunscreen. And fortunately for Scruffy - there’s a water station where he’ll lick up what he needs to stay hydrated.
He’ll also have a blast running in this beautiful wide open space as you relax and revel in the natural surroundings. You will be impressed by the maintenance of the park since the recreational department takes pride in mowing it weekly and checking and repairing the fence.
And if you forget your poop bags, that's okay because this park provides them for you. Previous visitors rave about how calming this park feels and that it's rarely busy.
You are all about simple and are okay with the fact that there are no fancy tunnels, agility courses, digging spots, etc. Scruffy’s always been low maintenance.
You’re just looking for a safe place for him to run off leash and are happy you found a space for your canine pal to let loose - literally. You're also glad that Scruffy doesn't have a temper because aggressive dogs are not allowed. Since Scruffy’s so sweet, you’re in the clear.
You’ve had some issues with scarce parking at places like this before and are ecstatic that Holden Beach provides a large parking lot right near the dog park entrance.
So what are you waiting for? Head to the Holden Beach Dog Park where you can ditch the leash and let Scruffy run free.
