Van Damme State Park finds its home in Little River, California. Nestled on 1,831 acres of naturally landscaped property, this recreational area and campground is a vacation hotspot, highly prized among family travelers. Situated within Mendocino County, this beautiful park is renowned for its stunning beach and forest which teems with ferns indigenous to the region.
This park is subdivided into two sections by a highway which runs through the center of the park. The property is also traversed by the Little River which affords avid fishermen many opportunities to catch the abalone which run its waters. Van Damme State Park is a dog-friendly facility; however, dogs must remain on a leash of no longer than six feet at all times when enjoying the grounds with their families.
At this time, there is not an area designated for dog play, and drinking water is not provided. Owners should bring a bag which contains all of the things needed for a day of fun including bottled water, a dog dish, and poop bags. It is the responsibility of all owners to clean up after their pets. It is unknown if bathrooms are installed on the grounds for public use.
Van Damme State Park is a public recreational space and campground. It is not known if a fee is required to access the premises; however, it is likely that to reserve a campsite there is an associated cost. This idyllic recreational haven offers families many interesting recreational opportunities to enjoy. Among the most popular attractions are kayaking, fishing, hiking, jogging, and biking.
Dogs are not permitted on any trails, dirt roads, or backwoods camping sites. The camping facilities earn high marks from visitors, but those who frequent this park do note that getting reservations are extremely hard to come by. It is best to reserve a campsite a minimum of two months prior to vacation to ensure a spot is available.
