Veteran’s Memorial Park is located at Skyline Drive and Jefferson Street in Monterey, CA, and it is approximately one mile away from the historic downtown of the city. The property spans 50 acres across the hills of Monterey, covered in forests and incredible bay views. This gorgeous park has many amenities for both you, your family, and your fur baby to enjoy.
Situated at about two and a half miles from the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Veteran’s Memorial Park is open 24 hours, Monday through Sunday, although the official schedule may differ during Memorial Day. The location provides 40 campsites in total, 30 of which can accommodate trailers, along with showers and restrooms for each visitor.
The large property offers three day-use picnic areas and overnight youth group area reservations in advance, however, camping sites are only available on a first come. Apart from its walking trails, overnight camping services, and sports fields, this park also provides owners with a lawn area for on-leash pets.
Its most attractive amenities include hiking trails through the Monterey Pine forest, BBQ picnic areas with water available, a basketball court, play equipment, turf, and lawn playfield as well as other sports activities. When taking their dogs on the trail, owners need to make sure they are always leashed. Furthermore, they will need to provide evidence of the dog’s current license along with their rabies shot.
Veteran’s Memorial Park is a popular area for both owners and pets, giving access to the preserve's hiking trails as well as excellent views of Pacific Grove and the coastline. Apart from the usual campground activities, dogs can also explore the surroundings and enjoy an amazing camping trip along with their owners. As long as they are well behaved and friendly toward strangers, Veteran’s Memorial Park is an ideal destination for all four-legged companions this season.
