Introduction

For fans of sketch comedy shows, shows within shows or really just anyone who appreciates the comedic genius of current and former Saturday Night Live minds, it doesn’t get much better than 30 Rock. Based on the experiences of Tina Fey while she was the head writer at SNL, the satirical show chronicles the ups and downs of working behind the scenes and producing sketch comedy. Best of all, not only does the show feature a fantastic cast of comedians, but outfits them with ridiculous names that will tell anyone nearby what kind of sense of humor you (and your dog) have.

30 Rock Inspired Dog Name Considerations

When trying to come up with an appropriate 30 Rock inspired name, it’s best to first put together a list of your dog’s most characteristic traits from their looks to their quirks and personality. Then, compare them to our list of characters and see where commonalities exist. If need be, open an additional character list or chart to help you identify a deeper analysis of each (since we only have so much space per character!).

For example, if your dog is slick, suave, or particularly manipulative, the names Jack and Donaghy would be ideal. If your dog happens to be a stress eater (especially breaking into cabinets or eating junk food), the name Lemon would be a perfect fit. For dogs that are ultimately jovial and obedient, then the name Parcell would certainly be suitable. For any that are particularly crazy or erratic, the name Jordan would be a great choice. For a dog that is childish or just ridiculous in general, Rossitano would be solid.

There are plenty of directions you can go, as the show boasted a pretty hefty list of recurring characters, each with their own quirks and ridiculous names that, once attributed, will remind you and everyone else around you just how great 30 Rock is.
