Introduction

Meet the Robinsons is a 2007 Walt Disney animated movie that follows the life of the Lewis, a young man who has grown up in an orphanage. Lewis is an inventor. Some of his inventions include those that would assist him in finding his birth parents. One particular scanner Lewis has entered in a local science fair. It is here that Lewis meets Wilbur Robinson, a fellow genius and inventor. Wilbur and Lewis conspire to take Lewis to meet his mother in a time machine Wilbur has created. During this time, Lewis meets Wilbur's family, the Robinsons. Through many twists and turns, Lewis realizes that the Robinson family he has encountered is actually his future self and future family. By the film's end, Lewis will be adopted by Lucille and Bud.

Meet the Robinsons Dog Name Considerations

When considering what type of dog breed is best suited for a name inspired by the Meet the Robinsons Disney film, two characteristics come to mind. First, the main character of the film, Lewis, is both highly intelligent and creative. This brings to mind the idea of very clever dog breeds. The Border Collie, German Shepherd, and Shetland Sheepdog are all herding dogs with high intelligence. The German Shepherd's high intelligence also makes him extremely trainable, which is one reason the breed is often tapped for police or military work. Additionally, many sheepdogs are included on the list of highly intelligent pups: the Collie, the Belgian Tervuren, and the Belgian Sheepdog are just a few. Another highly intelligent dog that often works as a therapy or service dog is the Golden Retriever. The Poodle spent many years working as a show dog in traveling circuses across the world. The breed is another of the very smart and easily trained dog breeds. The Schipperke and the Papillion are two small dogs that also rank as highly intelligent. Many spaniels are on the list as well; the Brittany and the English Springer Spaniel are both very inquisitive and very trainable.
