Top dog walkers in Bent Tree
Wag! Walkers know Bent Tree
Some might think that Bent Tree refers to the excellent Country Club near the Dallas North Tollway and Frankford. They wouldn’t be mistaken, but what they might not know is that it is also the name of the community that surrounds that club. The Bent Tree neighborhood is east of the Tollway and encompasses not only the Country Club, but single-family homes and the Saddle Brook Apartments. Reaching up to Frankford is the residential portion with the golf course filling in to the south. It is home to just over 10,000 folks.
This is a suburban community, so you will not find any dog-friendly retailers or business within its borders but Wagging Tails Dog Park is at the southern border. Keep the weather in mind as you walk with your furry friend. Texas summer temperatures can rise quickly, making sidewalks hot on your pup's paws. The other seasons are enjoyable and offer excellent walking weather for your furry friend!
What is the terrain like in Bent Tree?
Where you are in the neighborhood is going to dictate what kind of terrain you will find. In the residential sections, you and your canine walking buddy can expect sidewalks with the typical suburban landscaping trees. This is a dense neighborhood so there will be lots of pedestrian traffic as well as automotive traffic throughout the residential area.
The closer you are to the golf course, the more variety you will see in the terrain. From a mostly flat residential portion here, you will begin to see more of a rolling terrain with a good mix of artificial and natural turf. Your pup might like it closer to the golf course as there will be more opportunities for the soft grass underfoot. You can't actually power walk through the golf course as it is a private club, but many of the homes either back up onto the course or sit adjacent to it.
How many greenways are there in Bent Tree?
There is no lack of green in this neighborhood with the golf course producing a significant amount of it. The 700-acre course wraps through a good portion of the single-family homes. White Rock Creek also runs through the neighborhood, providing a wooded landscape running from Frankford all the way through the area. While there are no paths that follow the creek banks, many homes are located adjacent to it at different points.
The best part for our furry friends is on Keller Springs Road at the southern end of the neighborhood. Wagging Tails Dog Park is a 7-acre park that has separate play areas for your large and small dogs. There is also a ¼-mile walking trail and an awesome deck that looks out over White Rock Creek. With drinking fountains for humans and canines alike, the park offers all the amenities dog lovers could ask for. The park is usually open from sunup to sundown, Tuesday through Sunday.
