A great place to spend time with Fido is the Darien Community Park with almost 20-acres of space. The park features walking paths in addition to tennis courts, basketball courts, and sand volleyball courts. You can stroll through the park and admire the plants and flowers, or relax on a shaded bench while your pup enjoys a drink of water. There are restroom facilities available, but you will need to provide your own clean up bags. After spending time at the park, you might want to stop by Portillo’s restaurant where you can order hot dogs, burgers, and shakes. Make your order and then sit at one of the pup-friendly outdoor tables.

Concord

The serene location of Meyer Woods Park is a great destination to spend some quality time with your pup and family. Located on Oldfield Road, it is surrounded by an oak grove offering plenty of shade while walking along the paths. The park covers 10-acres, and Fido can romp and roll in the grassy areas. After walking, relax on one of the shaded benches and enjoy a snack. If you need more than a snack after exercising with your pooch, check out the Carriage Greens Country Club where you can dine at the Sandtrap Grill and your pup is welcome to join you at the outdoor tables.

South East Woodridge

South Grove Park located off Drover Lane is perfect when Fido needs a walk or time to run through the open fields. The park covers almost 30-acres and is mainly used for water retention. You can spend time with your pup playing frisbee or just enjoying the fresh air. Spread a blanket under the trees and relax with your pooch and enjoy a snack. Just a couple minutes up the road, you will find the Cozzi Corner restaurant where you can order Chicago style hot dogs. Sit at the outdoor picnic tables and the staff will give your pup a bowl of cool water.

Elm

If you travel just 4 miles northeast from Darien to Hinsdale, you will find the Katherine Legge Memorial Lodge Dog Park located inside the Katherine Legge Memorial Lodge Park. Fido will love running around off-leash in the grassy area, and there is even a small stream running through the park. Your pooch can socialize with other pups in the park while chasing balls and toys. Doggie waste bags are provided, and the park is clean and well-maintained. If you or family members are staying at the pooch-friendly Extended Stay America Burr Ridge hotel, you are close to the dog park where you can give him plenty of exercise.

Midwest Rd/ 35th St

Just twelve minutes north of Darien in the nearby town of Oakbrook, Fido can run off-leash at the Mayslake Forest Preserve Dog Park. Puppy parents can relax at the covered picnic tables and chat while the pups are having a pawtastic time. There are water and doggie bags available, so clean up and help keep the park looking great. In the forest preserve, you can explore 90-acres of historical buildings and sites, just be sure to keep Fido on a leash.
