Description

The Cottonwood Group Campground in the Joshua Tree National Park is the pawfect destination for your next camping vacation. The campground features individual sites for $20 per night as well as group sites which range from $35 to $40 per night. These spotsĀ are for tents only, and they require reservations in advance. It can get hot here in summer. The area sees heavy use from October to May because the days are warm and evenings are cool. There are flush toilets, potable water, fire pits, and picnic areas available in the facility. Enjoy hiking, biking, and watching wildlife in the park.

This campground lies in the south part of the park on desert shrubland. The open ground allows for relaxing walks and stunning views of the night sky. Another favored activity for campers who use this facility is viewing the wildflowers. Depending on the weather, you should be able to see a kaleidoscope of blooms somewhere between February and March. You'll also find a few hiking trails which startĀ near the facility. Use them to explore this section of the park. Gather around the campfire at night and share stories of your adventures. You can only burn fires in the designated areas due to the arid conditions here.Ā

Your pooch can join you in the campground and on paved roads but not on any nature trails or dirt lanes. You must always attend to them and keep them on a six-foot leash. Use poop bags to scoop their waste.Ā

Early spring is a pawtastic time to reserve your spot at the Cottonwood Group Campground. Come here with your pals or family members to enjoy the wildlife, wildflowers, and stars. When you set up camp, make sure the tents are near a fire ring or picnic table. Secure your food and other scented items each night to protect them from area wildlife. Don't collect any fuel from the park grounds; bring wood with you. Keep fires small and remember to douse them thoroughly before leaving the area.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
